Joe on a budget, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Onkyo SKS-HT690 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Black, 6) (Electronics) Since there is no review of these speakers anywhere on the internet I feel some added responsibility to put one up.I am no CNET, but here we go: The Good: They look high end with a high gloss piano-black finish. Surprisingly powerful for the size. Music sounds good.... not just for movies. The Bad: Closed boxes and the connections are push terminal, which seems kind of low end. I had trouble getting my large speaker wires into the terminal. The center speaker is a bit underwhelming, but blends well if the front speakers are close enough. The bottom line: If you want a great bang for your buck and are on a serious budget, then these are a deal. MSRP at 450 puts them up against "The Pioneer SP-PK21BS" and the "Engery Take Classic 5.1", which is some stiff competition in the budget space (probably why they lowered the price). I would not pay $450 for these speakers simply for the connections and being closed...
