The center and right rear speakers emit a whistling noise that sounds like a teapot when boiling. Not quite that loud, but enough to be a very undesirable noise in a new unit. I took the first one back, BB gave me another. Same thing. Then another. Same thing. I have connected it to another location with speaker wiring and a Monster Power supply and yes, it does the same thing! I called LG and they said they have no reports on this problem, but when a search is conducted, many people are complaining. Until this issue is resolved, I would suggest not buying this unit! EDIT---More details: The LHB335 has a horrible "Tea Pot" whistling noise emitted from the center speaker. It also comes from the right rear speaker at times. When I needed a new combo system I found this LG system that fits my needs. It is the only one in this price range that allows you to hook up already existing speakers. Most units have those little plastic plugs that make you use their speakers. My U-verse DVR has an ethernet plug so the internet hookup was easy. It has an iPod dock and you can control your music playback onscreen. I have really enjoyed using the online capabilities. Netflix is adding more movies all the time and you can even view photos saved with Picasa(Google). Creating your own radio station using Pandora is icing on the cake. All-in-all, a great unit for the money. We purchased the upgraded 535 model, returned it, and purchase this 335 model as well. Same exact problems on both, with an added problem (one of the worst) on this 335. PROS: - Very easy to set up - Small speakers (i.e., wife-friendly size/dimensions) - Wired internet worked quickly/easily - LG updates downloaded quickly, installed easily (wired internet) - HDMI input on the device is nice (can use HDMI switcher for multiple devices) - Support for internet streaming is nice (YouTube, Netflix, etc.) CONS: - Sound quality is horrible - Omnipresent tea-pot "whistling" through speakers - Popping sounds changing LG's input - Popping sounds using DVR (even with each channel change) - Awful "reverse" communication through HDMI to DVR Let me give some more details on the CONS above. I've been looking for a home theater system for about 2 months, and have searched Amazon up and down for a system for less than 300.00. This system fit everything I needed with my budget.I wanted a blu ray player, dependable brand, and clear sound. Sorry SONY, but I steered away from all SONY systems due to my experience with my last one that this unit has replaced. It is my third system and definitely the best so far. (under 300.00) HOOK UP: 15x20 living room open floor plan (no individual rooms: kitchen living room etc, one big area not clearly defined). 50" PLASMA against the wall and surround sound speakers placed behind on the floor due to not buying mounts (which you should buy!). Pros: sound is solid, center speaker does a good job. Surround sound is a notch above my other systems (RCA and SONY). Please don't give RCA your money. This thing freezes multiple times during playback(and it's not the disc, we have put brand new discs in with the same results). When I called their help line, they acted like they knew it was a problem, but required a receipt for me to send it in for repair/exchange. Since I bought it online, I don't have that and now I'm stuck with some nice speakers, but a worthless player. Plus, the speakers have the bare wire plug-ins (push down on the spring loaded button and insert the wire to connect) and it doesn't seem that many systems even use that anymore. Stay away! Far, far away! You would see the lips move on the tv and a fraction of a second later you would hear the sound from the speakers. I must say I've always wanted Klipsch floorstanding speakers, but cost (at this point in my life...post college age) has prohibited me from purchasing. When I saw this deal on Klipsch speakers I jumped to the opportunity. I took two days to run all of the speaker wires through the walls of my house (living room) and mount the front three speakers on the front wall, and the back two speakers on the ceiling beside our couch. I used 16 guage wire from the local "BB" big box store. I ran my AVR-1600s "mic" to our listening position, ran the setup test, and threw in the movie Clash of the Titans on Blue Ray. I could tell I was outputting the audio in Dobly Prologic II and or Dobly DTS sound, via my receiver, and it sounded awesome! I watch movies through my PS3, to my receiver, and to my Sony KDLXBR5. The sound is amazing, no problems with the sub-woofer either(as mentioned by a previous reviewer.) For the price I paid,(purchased a couple of days after Christmas on Amazon)and the quality sound these small speakers put out, I couldn't be happier. The set up was easy, I like the speaker wall mounts, you can adjust them sideways, but not up and down. After I installed them, all I had to do was tweak them some with the settings on my surround sound receiver. Also, I accidently dropped one of the speakers pretty hard as I was setting it up, and it still works. So that shows me they are made to last. Do yourself a favor, if you don't have surround sound, give these speakers a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
